Introducing America’s Finest New Whiskey, The Beverly High Rye

2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Gold Medal Winner

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Incepted in Los Angeles, born and raised in the Heartland, The Beverly High Rye draws its inspiration from Beverly Hills and is the ultimate American whiskey for the modern connoisseur. Winning Gold Medals for both whiskey and design at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the Beverly High Rye achieves a new paradigm in American whiskey by combining mastery in taste, craftsmanship, and design. Bold in flavor and rich in feel, this fine American whiskey evokes luxury and features a majority-rye grain bill made with straight rye and straight bourbon whiskeys hand-selected from Iowa and Indiana and expertly blended with Cedar Ridge Distillery.

The Beverly High Rye is a partnership between Beverly Spirits and Cedar Ridge Distillery. This award-winning craft distillery is a family-owned distillery, based in Swisher, Iowa, and founded by Jeff Quint. Cedar Ridge is the first distillery to open in Iowa since Prohibition, preserving a generational legacy of fine craftsmanship that reflects a Midwestern mindset putting production first, favoring quality over quantity. The Distiller has garnered a reputation for producing award-winning American whiskeys since its founding in 2005 and is widely recognized for winning the prestigious Distillery of the Year Award from the American Distilling Institute in 2017. Founder Andrew Borenzweig states, “The Beverly High Rye was created to capture the essence and luxury of one of America’s most iconic spirits, whiskey. Cedar Ridge’s legacy, passion, and commitment to quality instantly stood out as the best distillery to bring this vision to life. We are proud to release a fine whiskey that tastes and feels every bit as luxurious and hard working as the lifestyle that inspired it and the people who crafted it."

From grain to glass, each batch of this masterful blend of straight whiskeys is artisanally crafted and stands apart as the most luxurious name in American whiskey. The Beverly High Rye exudes magnificence with its deep copper color and highly unique complex flavor profile. The whiskey features a rich mouthfeel with cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar and finishes with candied pecans, caramel, and toffee. The aromatic notes of toasted oak, rye bread, coffee cake, and a hint of lemon peel are warm and inviting, which will have you returning for more…

The brand collaborated with Jeffrey Morgenthaler, world-renowned mixologist and author, on a collection of signature cocktails exclusively designed to highlight the versatility of the spirit. Morgenthaler states, “The most front-facing quality of The Beverly High Rye is its lush richness. These signature cocktails were designed to showcase a wide range of drinks that can be replicated not only by professional bartenders but also the home enthusiast. These drinks were chosen to reflect the care put into the whiskey by those who make it, and to let it shine.”

You can taste Los Angeles’ newest star at select locations in Los Angeles. In efforts to support our planet, for each bottle sold, a tree will be planted by Trees for the Future.

The Beverly High Rye retails for $59.99 and can be shipped to 46 states on beverlyhighrye.com. For more information visit beverlyhighrye.com and follow us @beverlyhighrye.

ABOUT BEVERLY SPIRITS:

The Beverly High Rye was founded in 2021 by Andrew Borenzweig, a whiskey enthusiast and entrepreneur with an extensive background in the industry. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Andrew was inspired by a vision to create a new class of American whiskey tailored to the modern aficionado, invoking Beverly Hills and the lifestyle it represents as the pinnacle of American luxury. Taking design cues from its California ethos of high living, The Beverly High Rye evokes American luxury in name and spirit. To create a whiskey of commensurate quality and style Andrew teamed up with Cedar Ridge Distillery, a family-owned, award-winning craft distillery renowned for its dedication to producing authentic American whiskeys. The Birthplace of Bourbon Is Booming

Bourbon continues booming in the Derby City and throughout Kentucky with no signs of a slowdown: More than $5 billion in capital investments are in the works or planned in the commonwealth.

Kentucky’s premier signature industry pours $9 billion into the Bluegrass economy every year, its 22,500 jobs generating $1.23 billion in payroll, according to a Kentucky Distillers’ Association’s economic development study. Distilling contributes more than $285 million in local and state tax revenue.

The industry’s impact on Louisville over the past decade has been substantial, leading to the city’s successful effort to rebrand the city as a bourbon destination, capitalizing on its tourism draw.

Since 2013 Louisville has reclaimed its bourbon heritage with the opening of 10 urban distilleries and the creation of numerous unique bourbon-related attractions, festivals, and hotels. The Greater Louisville region is bourbon’s mecca, where the majority of the state’s distilleries are located.

Louisville’s promotion of bourbon tourism as a driver for attracting visitors began as an idea to position the city as the “Gateway to Bourbon Country.” That began in 2006 as Louisville Tourism was looking for a new brand identity and decided to take a page from Bardstown’s playbook by “leaning in” to a Kentucky cultural asset.

Stellum Spirits Introduces Stellum Black Specialty Blends

LOUISVILLE Ky.Stellum Spirits, a national brand created to celebrate the modern-day whiskey drinker, introduced Stellum Black specialty blends, a new evolution in the brand’s portfolio. These specialty blends are ongoing limited releases which incorporate rare barrels to create limited edition bourbons and ryes that deliver robust flavor alongside profound complexity.s

Stellum Black specialty blends offer consumers more in terms of rarity, collectability, and insight into the inspiration behind the blends themselves. Blending in steps and with smaller batches allows the team to utilize barrels or even just parts of barrels that are particularly unique while still having a major influence on the character of the whiskey.

“Stellum Black specialty blends evoke the familiarity of two classic styles of American whiskey, taken one step further through our innovative blending and tasting process,” said Founder Joe Beatrice. “Each limited-release blend has an alternate blending profile that incorporates reserve barrels from our stocks with the original Stellum blend.”

The base for all Stellum Black specialty blends is a blend of Indiana bourbon/rye, which is then layered with older bourbons/ryes from Kentucky and Tennessee creating a unique everyday whiskey. These are the first two limited edition blends:

Stellum Equinox Blend #1

  • This inaugural release of the Equinox Blend was created using Stellum Bourbon. The team slowly layered in rare sets of bourbon barrels, step by step, until the evening of the Vernal Equinox, when the blend was completed in honor of the changing seasons and bottled at cask strength (117.26 proof)

Stellum Fibonacci Rye Blend #1

  • This release celebrates the Fibonacci sequence, a series of numbers, each the sum of the two previous numbers. Six separate rye blends were combined in accordance with this sequence. Just like so many other presentations of Fibonacci, the blend that it produced was both balanced and beautiful. Bottled at cask strength (115.12 proof)

Both Stellum Equinox Blend #1 and Stellum Fibonacci Rye Blend #1 have an SRP of $99. They are now available at select retailers in 48 U.S. markets and online via the Stellum website.

Victor George Spirits to Donate One Dollar from Every Bottle of Fort Mose’ 1738 Bourbon Sold to the Fort Mose’ Historical Society

Victor George Spirits (VGS) announced they have agreed to donate one dollar from every bottle sold of their newly released bourbon, Fort Mose’ 1738 to help with educational programs, events and creating overall awareness of the historic town. This year- long initiative to support Fort Mose’ Historical Society will run from now until June 19, 2023 in celebration of freedom and Juneteenth.

Fort Mose Bourbon is named after the Florida town which was established in 1738 just two miles north of St Augustine, Florida.  This became the first settlement and town in which Black people could live free.

“This donation is greatly appreciated and will help with executing our mission statement of continuing to tell the story of Fort Mose’ and the impact it has had in the history of our country not only for African Americans but all Americans. We are excited to work with Mr. Harvey’s company to educate our youth and make sure this part of history is never forgotten,” said Charles Ellis President of Fort Mose’ Historical Society.

VGS is a Black owned company founded by Victor G Harvey one of the largest spirits owners in the United States. VGS is the owner of the nationally distributed Victor George Vodka, Palm Beach Distillery and now Fort Mose’ 1738 bourbon with additional product lines to follow.

“Giving back has always been part of who I am.  We knew with the story behind Fort Mose’ and us being able to help tell it through our bourbon that this was going to be a huge brand. Our sales exploded all over the United States the day it came out and I told my team we must do more, and I saw donating funds from every bottle sold over the next year as a way to do that,” said Victor Harvey, Founder of Fort Mose 1783’.

VGS will be releasing Pullman Porters rye whiskey in August of this year immediately followed by a full tequila line named Olmec Tequila.

In November of 2021 Harvey was awarded $2.45 million dollars by the Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency to build Fort Lauderdale’s first Black owned distillery. Project plans have been expanded to an 18,000 square foot building housing a distillery, restaurant, cigar lounge, and rooftop patio and lounge. Expected groundbreaking is summer 2022.

Victor George Vodka is available in 44 states and carried by most major retailers across the U.S. such as Total Wine, Kroger, Trader Joe’s and others. Retail price is $19.99 for 750ml and $28.99 for 1.75L. Fort Mose’ retails for $44.99.

Covered Bridges Whiskey Co. Releases Pigeon River Whiskey

The Covered Bridges Whiskey Co. (TCBWC) has announced the release of its new Tennessee Whiskey, Pigeon River. Pigeon River is the Tennessee complement to TCBWC’s Kentucky Whiskey brand Ruddell’s Mill, that released its Kentucky Bourbon and Rye last year.

Covered Bridges played an important role in the early days of American infrastructure and were often found adjacent to, or nearby gristmills and distilleries – both which were commonly built along rivers. The Covered Bridges Whiskey Company pays homage to specific covered bridges with releases of whiskeys telling their stories as they lay backdrop to our history.

The Pigeon River Covered Bridge (also known as the Harrisburg, McNutt’s and East Fork Covered Bridge) is the oldest standing covered bridge in Tennessee. Located in Sevierville, it was an access point for the town which was known for craftsmen like Mill Builders in the 1800s.

The bridge was built in 1875 by Elbert Stephenson Early, who owned the nearby Newport Mill, one of many mills in the area. The mills processed corn for local farmers, much of which ended up as the key ingredient for their quietly produced whiskey. This remote area in the Smoky Mountains, provided the perfect seclusion from Whiskey Tax Collectors in the 1800s and prohibition enforcers in the early 20th century.

Pigeon River Tennessee Whiskey is a small batch whiskey derived from a primarily corn mash bill with a touch of malted barley and is meant to replicate an early day Tennessee mash bill that would have been commonly found in the 1800s. After being twice distilled, it is slowly passed through maple charcoal filtration to mellow before barrel aging in new American oak.

Pigeon River is a small batch Tennessee Straight Whiskey with individually numbered bottles and a batch number on each label. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 96 Proof. It will be available in 750-mL bottle for a suggested retail of $54.99 and will be represented nationally by Worldwide Libations, LLC.

Worldwide Libations, LLC is a full-service national importer of fine wines and boutique spirits from around the world and pledges to deliver a high value to its suppliers, industry partners and consumers with unique and high quality products.
