World’s Best Bourbon

Everyone knows Kentucky is the bourbon capital of the world. Most people are also familiar with the bourbons and Tennessee whiskey pouring out of the Volunteer State. It also goes without saying that Midwest Grain Producers (MGP) is pumping out some top-notch whiskey and bourbons from Indiana. So on February 11th, when the World Whiskies Awards named their selection for “World’s Best Bourbon”, it of course came from… Texas. Wait, what? Yes, you read that right. I said Texas.  North Texas-based Ironroot Republic’s Harbinger Bourbon walked away with the award for “World’s Best Bourbon”.

Ironroot Republic, distilled in Denton, Texas, uses select heirloom corn varieties and adapted French brandy distilling techniques. It is currently only available in select markets outside of Texas. The SRP is around $50 and after receiving this award, I’m sure it will be widely sought after. Until next time,
